# SUMIF of multiple occasions

Hi All,

Im trying to find a formula that will allow me to return a sum from one column every time a match is found in multiple other columns...

The book is detailing work done on different projects during the week and reporting the total time for each project for that week

 Mins Time Slot Monday Tuesday Wednesday 30 9:00-9:30 Planning Personal Tasks Planning 30 9:30-10:00 Beckett Planning Planning 60 10:00-11:00 Beckett Beckett Beckett 60 11:00-12:00 Beckett Service Calls Beckett 15 12:00-12:15 Personal Tasks Service Calls Beckett 15 12:15-12:30 Eating Eating Beckett 30 12:30-13:00 Eating Eating Beckett 60 13:00-14:00 Planning Beckett Eating 60 14:00-15:00 Service Calls Service Calls Personal Tasks 60 15:00-16:00 Service Calls Service Calls Personal Tasks 60 16:00-17:00 Planning Planning Personal Tasks

<tbody>
</tbody>

Then on the reporting table i have

Planning
Beckett
Service Calls
Eating

Using SUMIF is simple enough to total each day, but i would like a formula that will return the time value in A3 twice, A4 twice, A10 once and A13 twice for a returned value of 300 (then to be converted to hours) when searching for Planning

Any suggestions would be welcomed...

### Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.

Hi

Welcome to the board

Try in I3:

=SUMPRODUCT((\$C\$3:\$E\$13=H3)*\$A\$3:\$A\$13)

Copy down

or, safer

=SUM(IF(\$C\$3:\$E\$13=H3,\$A\$3:\$A\$13))

This is an array formula, you have to confirm it with CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER.

Copy down
