Sumif with multiple criteria in same range

I'm trying to sum a range of sales where the values I want to sum are in the same column and based on different criteria and I also need to based the argument on another column. For example in column A I have a list of sales and I want to sum the sales if the sales are greater than 0 but less than 5,000,000 and if the name in column B is equal to say John.

Column A Column B
500,000 John
1,000,000 Steve
15,000,000 John
3,000,000 John

In this example the answer would be 3,500,000

Is it possible to add another range to the equation, I just realized in addition to the above I also need to sum the values in another column. I need to sum the value in column c based on if the sale are great than 0 but less than 5M and John the name in column b I also want to sum the values in column c.
