I am using a resource database and within it I am using a SUMIF formula which I am completely happy with. The formula I am currently using is:

=sumif($C$28:C$49,$C57,D$28:D$49)

I want to add an additional step to the above however. I want to use the above formula but only SUM if the values in another column (B28:B49) DON'T ='vacancy'.

Any ideas anyone.

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
In 07 and above there is the SUMIFS function

=sumifs($C$28:C$49,$C57,D$28:D$49,"<>vacancy",B$28:B$49)

Pondcroft13,

Try for Excel 2003:

=SUMPRODUCT(--($C$28:$C$49=$C57),--($B$28:$B$49<>"Vacancy"),$D$28:$D$49)

Pondcroft13,

You will generally get much more help (and faster) in this forum if you can post your small samples (what you have and what you expect to achieve) directly in the forum.

To attach screenshots, see below in my Signature block: Post a screen shot with one of these:
