Hi, I'm trying to sum a lot of data based on date (over 7,000 lines) and based on a number and having problems. Dates in column A, amounts in column B and type in column 3. The type can vary but starts with the same number. How can I sum these? Please note, 3 and 30 are not the same thing so can't be summed together however the others can be summed by 4 or 5 as they are the same. Thanks in advance.

No, too complicated for what I need. I need a summary of deposits by date and type for a month. I've done it before but I can't remember how.

That would only work for that line. I need a sum for several numbers together. For example, lines 5, 6, 7 & 8 would all be summed together to equal 112.00
