Sumifs with data in the same column

Me again...

Wow. Tried to apply the same set-up for countifs with a sumifs statement and for some reason it only returns the sum G2:G50000 for "E".


=SUMIFS(Jan!$G$2:$G$50000,Jan!$A$2:$A$50000,'Roll-up'!$A4,Jan!$D$2:$D$50000,{"E","L"})

You left out an important part...

=SUM(SUMIFS(Jan!$G$2:$G$50000,Jan!$A$2:$A$50000,'Roll-up'!$A4,Jan!$D$2:$D$50000,{"E","L"}))

Thank you. Is including the 'Sum' out front only required if you are including multiple criteria from the same column?

Yep, it's basically creating 2 sumifs/countifs formulas. One for the E and one for the L, then Summing the results of the 2.

It would be the same as doing

=SUMIFS(..., "E")+SUMIFS(...,"L")
