I have an excel file and sheet contains employees name, employees No, his section, department, dates, etc. and shows he is absent or present in date column. I want results in another sheet against each section how many employees are present and absent on day wise.

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
can you provide details on how the data is laid out - ideally using the XL2BB Add-in - see menu or my signature

I dont know how you identify Absent or present or the date and the department

But a pivot table may give you the result
OR
you maybe able to use a countifs()
