Summing across multiple tabs

When I have an existing sum function that runs across multiple tabs, as for instance sum(Sheet1:Sheet4!a4), I find that when I insert a new sheet in the sequence encompassed by the sum it is not recognized in the sum unless I recreate the sum formula. Shouldn't the sum automatically pick up new sheets inserted between the sheets at each end of the multi-sheet sum range?

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
It should. Are you sure calculation is not set to manual? Also try the replace = with = "trick" on your sheet with the SUM(Sheet1:Sheet4!A4) formula.
