Summing random lists of names with tallies

I have a workbook with 12 worksheets (months) and on each sheet in column A there is a random list of names, it varies in length each month and I don't know what the names will be. In column B there is a number, a tally of sales corresponding to each name. What I want to do is have a summary page with the names of the top 10 sales people of the year or of the quarter or of the last 3 months etc but I can't manage a function that will tally the names and number of sales correctly. Help!
