I asked a question yesterday about how to change decimal numbers into time and know I need to know how to SUM the time into total number of days, hours, and minutes.

For example, if I have B1 to B4 filled with 6:15 (being 6 hours and 15 minutes) when I go to sum them in B5 it says 1:00 hour.

Instead of it only saying the next days hour I need it to say 1 day and 1 hour.

How do I do that?

Thank you!

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
Never mind I figured it out. Just thinking too much!

I think you just format the cell to dd:hh:mm.

Ok. That is not how I need the cell formatted.

I need it to be total hours and minutes. No days! For example in the first post I said 1 day 1 hour. I need it to say 25 hours.

Can anyone help!

Thanks!

JR,

If you want total hours, use [h]:mm.

Also, try these custom formats:

d“day” h“hour” m“minutes”
Will give you: 1day 1hour 0minutes

or:
d\d h\h m\m
Will give you 1d 1h 0m
