Summing

How do I go about Summing a column but only positive numbers? And conversely, Summing only negative numbers. Thanks in advance Alfonso

or for -ve numbers

=SUMIF(range,"<"&0,range)

=SUMIF(C4:C6,">0",C4:C6)

change to "<0" for -

To add to lasw10's reply

=SUMIF(Range:Range,">0") will also work

For example, A1 to A10 would be =SUMIF(A1:A10,">0")

See the Excel help file for SUMIF if you want to use one range to evaluate for a condition, but actually sum another range.

how about trying ...

=SUMIF(A:A,">0")
and
=SUMIF(A:A,"<0")
