Hello again,

I having trouble figuring out how to use sumproduct formula vertical vs horizontal. I have this formula

=SUMPRODUCT((a1:d6=LEGEND!$D$4:$D$7)*(LEGEND!$E$4:$E$7))

what I need is
=SUMPRODUCT((a1:a6=LEGEND!$D$4:$D$7)*(LEGEND!$E$4:$E$7))

can anyone assist please... because when I use the 2nd formula the result is #N/A

Thoughts...

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
It fails because A1:A6 is not the same length as D4:D7. On is 6 cells, the other 4 cells. It will be comparing A1 with D4, then A2 with D5 etc. It has nothing to compare A5 and A6 with. It would not fail if for example you had A1:A4.
