Suppress link update warning using VB?

I have created an Excel app for teachers to score short vowel proficiency in reading and spelling of third grade students.

I have a second app that allows the user to create a test report custom header for their specific school appearing on each child's report.

Both apps are packaged on an installation CD. When unpacked, the scoring app presents a persistent MS Link Enable Warning pop-up.

As a temporary fix, I have added an instruction in the test user's manual to clear the "Ask to update automatic links" pop-up option in their own version of Excel.

Is there way to achieve the same specific warning suppression by adding VB code to the parent app?

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
See if this code helps at all.

Code:
Sub turn_alerts_off()
Application.DisplayAlerts = Falsse
End Sub

Dermie,

Thanks. I had just tried this

(Application.DisplayAlerts = False)

based on an earlier post with no luck on link update popup suppression.

Since I posted this q. I found this post which makes me believe that the only way to address the issue is by changing the generic Excel advanced option on an individual user basis.
