switching line chart axis

i highlight three columns and put it into a line chart (comes out to about 3 columns and 15 rows). two are data (dates) and one is words (descriptions). when i chart it i get a weird chart and then i hit the switch axis tab at the top. that gives me a good chart with the words at the bottom and my data points charted like i somewhat want. problem is that the boss wants the words on the left and dates on the bottom. i can seem to do that in '07 and was wondering if anyone knows how to do that, if possible. thanks
