Tab Delimited Problem

Hello, I am using Excel 2004 for the Mac.

I need to create a tab delimited file, the problem is that one of the columns is for a product description, which in most cases exceeds the space of the cells in the column. Excel shows those fields that exceed the space with a series of ####s. (If I click on those fields, I can still see the original text, though.)

My problem is that when I save to tab delimited any cell in that state is exported as #####, not the original text. I have extended the column width as far as Excel will allow me, which helps some, but that still leaves a lot of cells with the ####s which have a lot of text.

Is there any way to force Excel to save out the original contents of those cells?

Thanks.

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
How long is the text in that cell??
Have you tried setting the cell's Format>Alignment>WrapText?

Thanks for responding... I checked Wrap Text, unfortunately it didn't help with my problem, but caused a different one to emerge where if the text is less than the cell space it is not shown at all (and not saved out either).

The longest of my cells may have about 50 words or so in them.
