Table Import Wizard

I purchased "PowerPivot for the Data Analyst" and downloaded the Sample Data. When I tried to Connect to Flat File to import the demo.txt, I received the message "Failed to connect to the server. Reason: Provider information is missing from the connection string."
Since the file is on my C: drive, this message makes no sense to me. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
