Tables behave oddly

I just started a thread that contained a table. I had some trouble getting the cursor out of the table. The down arrow key would stop at the last row and would not go below the table. The right arrow would go to the end of the last row and would not go any further. Even clicking below the table would not get the cursor out of the table. The up and left arrows worked correctly.

Then it suddenly started working.

Then while creating this thread, I added table. I had no problem getting the cursor oujt of the bottom of the table, but I could not get out out of the top. Exactly the opposite problem.

Do I have some setting wrong?
 
I just tried in chrome and didn't experience this behaviour. What browser are you using?
 
Good point. I should have mentioned that I was using IE8.

I did this in FF12 and the table worked correctly. I'll retry using IE.
 
I did this one using IE. I get the same behavior. I cannot get the cursor out of the table using the arrow keys.

If I preview the post, then the arrow keys will exit the bottom of the table, but not the top.
