Telephone Bill Analysis

I am trying to analyse my telephone bill for both calls and internet usage. I have the bill in Excel with columns for Date, Start time of call and End time of call.

I am trying to analyse the calls to get a breakdown of calls by type (i.e. local, national, mobiles) and by time period (i.e. peak, off-peak, weekend).

It's really the time period I'm struggling with. I can group the calls by type easily, and I have made a pivot table, but I can only group down to days, weeks or months.

How can I make an analysis that gives me figures for peak (e.g. between 8am and 6pm Mon-Fri) off peak (e.g. between 6pm to 8am Mon-Fri) and weekend (e.g. between 6pm Fri to 8am Mon)?

Any help or suggestions how to do this would be gratefully received. It must be a common problem, so I'm sure many others would benefit too.

Thanks
Patrick

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
