Based on lame memory, I was ATTEMPTING to reorient myself with how to work with addins. I sort of failed, even with good help from internet. It is a bit confusing to me.

I have a file that I want to make into an add in, eventually. Placed .xlam file into the Excel add in folder. Thought that I had to tell Excel to use it. Excel apparently added it to its list of expected addins...but I do not want it to load. When opening, Excel asks whether the name was changed, or if file was moved or deleted. A rhetorical question?

The answer is yes, I moved it and it is not ready for addin status.

I sure hope that there there's a way to fix this?

TIA Mr Exceler's.

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.

Sorry for a weak (less than thorough) description of my situation so you could assist.

Of course topic title should say How, not Hot.

I did go to the OPtions and uncheck the phantom addin in Excel. I also moved the file and restarted Excel. It is not clear to me what to try next.

Like I said, confused...

Move the file back into the add-in folder, then open Excel, on the developer tab select add-ins, uncheck the add-in.
You should then be able to remove the file from the folder, without any further problems.
