I have to test the values of my string variables. The values of the string variables need to be tested to determine if they begin with either "H" or "O". Example:

vMyString = "Over"

The above string variable begins with an "O" so I'd like to recognize this via code somehow?

I appreciate your help!

Matt

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
left(variablename,length)

so left(vMyString,1) would return "O"

Code:
if left(vMystring,1) = "O" then
    ' code
else
   if left(vMystring,1) = "H" then
        ' code
   end if
end if
