Testing if an application is open

Hello

How can i test if an application is already running before opening it using a shell command

Actually, many application (all the same) are running simultaneous because my macro did not check if it was already running before opening it.


Any help appreciated

"AppActivate" is a quick and dirty way you can use if you know what the title bar of the application is.

On Error Resume Next
AppActivate "AutoCad"
    If Err Then
        MsgBox Err.Description
    Else
        MsgBox "Switched to AutoCad"
    End If
On Error GoTo 0
