Good day all,

I was hoping the panel of experts here can assist with a formula to show only data between a string.

within column b2 we I have:

"Opened by Mattyro1 on 6/22/2011 07:41:41 AM"

What I am looking for is a formula to show only Mattyro1.

Anyones assistance is greatly appreciated.

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand

One way...

=SUBSTITUTE(LEFT(B2,SEARCH(" on ",B2)-1),LEFT(B2,10),"")

=TRIM(MID(LEFT(A1,FIND(" on ",A1)),11,32767))

Hi

Assuming the string always begins with "Opened by " then try -

Code:
=MID($B2,11,FIND(" on ",$B2)-11)
