Hi all, I have copied and pasted various data into Excel (2010). I am applying formulas to part of it, in this case a vlookup formula. But it doesnt seem to want to recognise the word which come from the "net". The error I get is #N/A.

If I just type in a word myself, it works perfectly.

Any thoughts,,?

Regards, Paul

Use Data, What-If Analysis, Goal Seek to find the correct input cell value to reach a desired result
For some reason it is not finding the "text" from the net,..??
but it is finding my ordinary text,...??

Tough to say, but copy and pastes from the net bring in a bunch of formatting and possibly special characters. Have you tried using Excel's built in external data source option and using that to pull from the web page?

You might have more success with that rather than copy and paste.

The only other thing I could think is if there are erroneous spaces in there. Try copying it and pasting special > values to a blank workbook, then moving your cursor around to see if that's it.

If the site is public and you can post the data you're trying to pull, maybe someone could see whats up with it.
