Hi

I was wondering whether it is possible to format a group of cells so that all numbers entered appear with a text prefix?

For example: I have a column of non-consequtive numbers, all of which I want to appear with the prefix VOLUME.

I have tried using formating the cells by going into custom but I get an error message say that Excel can not use the number format I have typed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
or if you want the General format with those words in front:

"VOLUME "General
