Text ref in a formula rather than cell ref

Afternoon All,

I have got the below formula working but instead of using the cell link A1, I would like to change it to say S01AD. The reason is that I want to use this forumla throughout my spreadsheet and it would be a lot easier to type a name in rather than trying to find the corresponding cell each time.

=SUMPRODUCT(($A$1:$D$4=A1)*$D$1:$D$4)

Is this possible?

=SUMPRODUCT(($A$1:$D$4="S01AD")*$D$1:$D$4)

Try

=SUMPRODUCT(($A$1:$D$4="S01AD")*$D$1:$D$4)
