Hi,

I have a worksheet that has a bunch of model and serial numbers in a single cell but the serial numbers are always spaced out like this " - "; for example:

IBM 48453-XT-14 - 4156489
MDS-C9250i - CO-SAN-12345B2
etc.

Is there anyway I can do some type of hyphen text to columns including a space before/after (e.g. " - ") just like how it is in the spreadsheet data?

Thank you!

Back into an answer in Excel
Use Data, What-If Analysis, Goal Seek to find the correct input cell value to reach a desired result
What you can do is a Find/Replace, replacing all the instances of " - " with a single character, like a tilde ("~") or some other character that is not used in your data.
Then do your Text to Columns on that character.
