Hello

How can I change (using a formula) the format of acell to number so that it can be calculated?

I tried VALUE but it does not work.

I do not know how to attach a file to this message to show what I am trying to do!

Thanks

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Try multiplying the cell by the number 1. ie. if your cell value is in A1, then in B1 type: =A1 * 1

I used the CODE formula and the result that it returns is 63, does this help find out what the format is and how it can be converted to number?

Show the value which give you the result 63 with the formula code. (post it on this forum).
