text 'VV' to number

hi everyone

i have a question for you.
i will try to explaine it as good as i can.

i am making an excel document for next year so i can put in my work hours, holidays, how many hours i workd, how much holidays i have taken and so on.

now i want the sum of VV (thats the code for a vacation day where i work)

example:

so i want to get the sum of the 'VV' in the colum E1 to E7.

i have another question, im sorry but i am a really beginner at this

if i have 2 columns

in the first column i want to put in VD or YA (code for hours i worked over)
then in column 2 the hours that i have taken.

so i want to count of hours in different cel's of the VD and YA
