# This might be simple

Hi,

This might be simple, but I am approaching two months of writing spreadsheets and my head is failing

If Column A has a value of 9.1234, I want to round this, which I can do by various methods to the nearest whole number of 9. However, if I want to use the value in column A, I want to use the rounded version of 9 to complete further calculations, and not 9.1234.

Any ideas?

Many thanks, your help has been invaluable

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney

=round(A1,0)/3

=round(A1,0)/3
Thanks, but this rounds the number to the nearest whole and divides by 3? So 9.1234 becomes 3, when I want it to become 9 and stay at 9?

Then I don't follow! Give some examples of what you're trying to do.

P.s. the =round(A1,0)/3 was just showing how to use 9 in another calculation.

The data I am using produces two scores, using a Z score method, an example is 46.573 and 56.72. However, I need to add the two scores of 47 and 57 to produce a total of 104. If I add the two cells as they are (even though they show as 47 and 57), I get 103.293, which obviously doesn't round to what I need to use

So like i said, use

=round(A1,0)+round(B1,0)

Thank you. I don't know why this didn't work previously, but thank you anyway
