I have looked over the threads that have the THREED function referenced, and I am really lost. I have 10 sheets that are all the same, and I want to use the THREED formula. This is what I have, and if anyone can help my ignorance I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Sheet 1 is a summary sheet.
All Sheets that follow are labeled alphabetically, and cell contents in column A are identical. Column B the user was given the choice to make out of 5 references. I am wanting to sum on the Summary sheet particular choices. I tried to use the following formula in Sheet1!B4 to no avail

=sumproduct(--(threed(a:d!b7)="4=Very Well Aligned"),threed(a:d!b7))

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.

Did you really name your sheets A, B, C, and D?

It seems to me that you want to count the occurence of "4=Very Well Aligned". Right?

Aladin you are exactly right. Should I name my sheets differently?

No, not necessarily. Since you want a 3d, single condition counting:

Insert 2 new sheets, name them First and Last, put A to D in between these two, and use:

=COUNTIF.3D(First:Last!$B$7,"4=Very Well Aligned")

THREED? What's that?

A function provided by the morefunc.xll add-in that allows you to contruct 3d formulas. I think I posted a few such formulas on this site you can examine.

Cheers Aladin. Though it was a standard xl function I'd missed - should have though of morefunc when you posted!

Aladin =countif.3d works like a charm. Thanks for your help.

How would I have know to use 3d instead of threed?

Also, why are the First and Last sheets so important.
