Is there a shortcut key/combo that will input the current date and time, and if so, how do I have the cell display it as mm/yy hh:mm ?

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.

Try Ctrl+; space Ctrl+Shift+; format the cell to your liking.

For date only cTRL+; FOR TIME ONLY CTRL+SHIFT+;

But how to format the date part as mm/yy ?[/quote]

The cell that houses the date/time, go to Format/Cells/Number tab/select custom and use mm/yy hh:mm
