I am trying to find a formula that will give me the middle time in between 2 times, I know it doesnt make sense.

Basially I enter in A1 21:00 and in A2 01:00 so i would be looking for the answer 23:00 as it is half way between the 2 times.

any help appreciated.

### Excel Facts

If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.

You can use the AVERAGE function with times:

=AVERAGE(A1,(A2+(A2<A1)))

formatted as hh:mm:ss.

#### VoG

##### Legend
Try

=A1+MOD(A2-A1,1)/2

It's:

=MOD(A3,1)

I notice HTML truncated my first formula:

=AVERAGE(A1,(A2+(A2 < A1)))

Could I ask one last one, If i have 2 times say in A1 21:00 and in A2 22:14 do you know what formula I could put into a conditional format to let me know if A2 is 61 mins or more greater than A1.

Thanks

Try:

=(A2+(A2 < A1)-A1)>=TIME(0,61,0)

#### VoG

##### Legend
Try this

Excel Workbook
A
121:00
222:14
Sheet3
Cells with Conditional Formatting
CellConditionCell FormatStop If True
A21. / Formula is =(A2-A1)*1440>=61Abc

I have to go now but will check back later on.
