I have created a simple worksheet for a time sheet for a project, but can not get the numbers to work. I am sure it is an issue with formats, but I need assistance to fix. The worksheet screen shot is:

1590429086254.png

Column F is in General format showing units of hours (i.e. .50 = 1/2 Hour), G and H are start and end times where I is the net time for the line. The yellow highligt is the sum of the area where the time est = 8.5 hours and total time spent = 1:50 (one hour and 50 minutes). The difference between the yellow F-I I want to show 7 in column P (yellow), but it shows the odd value of .076....

How do I correct my worksheet to show the values expected?

Thank you in advance for your help!
Tom

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
If you custom format the cell as [HH]:MM .076388889 will show as 1:50

If the above doesn't help then...
Can you post an example using the boards XL2BB addin so we can copy/paste the data into Excel cells (the XL2BB icon in the reply window is a link to the instructions and download link)

Just to point out that 8.50 is 8 hours 30 minutes not 8 hours 50 minutes so you would get 8:30 - 1:50 which would be 6:40. That you would achieve by the below...

Book1
ABC
38.501:5006:40
Sheet2
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
C3C3=A3/24-B3
