I’m apparently expecting something from the time format (listed as 37:30:55) that is not happening. I have decimal hour values computed by the distance formula: time = distance / rate, and was expecting (and want) to see the value 1.25 (hrs) converted to 01:15:00, when in fact I get 30:00:00. Would someone please set me straight? Thanks a lot.

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
1.25 is 1 1/4 DAYS.

Excel's time is based on 1.00 being 1 day, so 0.5 is 12 hrs
1 and 1/4 days is 30 hrs,hence 30:00:00

Divide 1.25 by 24 then format as time
