Time formats

Total Time
4:11:00

This time is a sum of several other times. I'm trying to subtract 90 minutes from this time, but its not working. The format has a date in it that wont allow it. Is there a certain way I need to do this?

The actual cell is E4. The formula is: "=SUM(D2:D103)"

D2-D103 are in this format
1/0/1900 0:00
1/0/1900 0:11
1/0/1900 0:00

First of all, format ALL the cells you are using for this, includingE4...and two more, say E2 and E3, as 3/14/01 13:30 (for Excel 2002). Then, enter your 90 minutes as 90 in cell E2, and your subtaction formula as =E4-E2 in cell E3.

How do I format this?
I don't see an option for 3/14/01? I'm not sure how to switch to 2002 if that is what you are saying?

NO!, I don't mean to switch to Excel 2002! I just happened to be at a computer which had Excel 2002 on it, so, that is what I used.

In general, for ANY Excel, click on Format in the Menu bar, then on Cells, Number and select Date. On the Type: slot on the right, scroll down to a date with a time, which, in Excel 2002 shows as 3/14/01 13:30, and, on my Excel 97, as 3/4/97 13:30. Each Excel will have its own numbers there.
