I have a spreadsheet which I use for tracking delivery dates on orders. I need to receive an alert/notification/reminder when the date has expired with 5 days.

Please could you assist?

I have tested the formula and it works! Only one problem, it doesn't alert on all overdue dates. i.e. I can have a date in April and it puts 'overdue'. When I have for instance 08/08/2010 - it doesn't alert, but on date 09/08/2010 it does!

Any suggestions?

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).

Good morning! No I have not used different dates as I initially requested. I am using your formula as suggested - 5 days only.

If you just want to be alerted if it is over 5 days then

=IF(TODAY()-D1>=5,"Overdue","")
