Is there any way to show time in a cell but only have it change when 5 minutes elapses. So for example, i have the time 12:00 in a cell, I would not want this time to change until the time is 12:05. I would prefer to do this without using vba if possible.

thanks all

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand

You need to use VBA to get that to work.

Otherwise you could use the NOW() function and format to to just show the TIME and it would update everytime someone hits enter, or the sheet recalcs, or when the sheet opens, but doubtful that is what you really want so your left with VBA.

There should be some good examples on the board. Try searching for TIMESTAMP macro or TIMESTAMP and VBA. Maybe narrow it down by searchign for user VoG. I know he has posted stuff similar to your request.
