i WANT TO CREATE START AND FINISH TIME IN THE CELL BUT NOT IN A TYPE IN FORMAT A DROP DOWN MENU SELECTION WITH 15MIN INCREMENTS CAN ANYBODY HELP ME OUT THERE???? I DON'T HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE IN DOING THESE TYPE OF FORMATS.... PLS HELP!!!!! ON HOW TO DO THIS..

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
Do you want a drop down list to choose e.g. 15 ;30;45 etc. If so create a list of these numbers and in the cell where you want your result choose Data>Validation>Allows>List and choose the range that contains your list(which can be hidden)

Hi
Create your list as Scorp suggests in a column. Choose the cell that you want to put your result and open the Data Menu from the Toolbar. Pick Validation, you will get a form and choose from the dropdown list pick from "list", there is a box to enter the range containing your list. click in it and go to the first cell in your list and drag down to highlight all numbers. Now when you click on the results cell you will get a drop down list with your numbers in

Hi,

ok you can put the list on a sheet you don’t use i.e. last sheet in the workbook( copy the list above), once you have pasted the list on the last page go to the cell you want the data to be (once you have chosen it leave it selected) now go to Data, then Validation, then choose List from the Allow drop down. Next click the source and high light your list that you put on the last page, click ok.

If you go to the cell you get a drop down arrow click it and a list appears chose a time and that’s it .

There are a few other methods using combo or list boxes but these are a little more involved using Index function

hope that helps
