Using chart functions or some other display mode in Excel, I want to be able to compare contracts based on start / end dates to show overlaps or gaps in time or coverage. The user inputs dates on a spreadsheet and the chart is created to show them if the contract coverage is correct or has gaps or overlaps in coverage.

Example 1 - Gap:
Customer A has a contract from 1/1/2010 and ends 12/31/2010. (I want to chart that in Excel with some kind of line or bar chart.) We signed Customer A for a 2nd contract term from 2/1/2011 to 12/31/2011. Note this produces a gap between the two contracts. (I want this term to be shown in the chart along side of the earlier contract to visibly show the gap.)

Example 2 - Overlap:
Customer A has a contract from 1/1/2010 and ends 12/31/2010. (I want to chart that in Excel with some kind of line or bar chart.) We signed Customer A for a 2nd contract term from 11/1/2010 to 12/31/2011. Note this produces an overlap between the two contracts. (I want this term to be shown in Excel along side of the earlier contract to visibly show the gap.)

Is there a way to visually show these scenarios using Excel?

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
