I have a spreadsheet that I need to track time on a daily basis. It's a simple spreadsheet
example:

......Monday......Tuesday......Wednesday.......Thurs...Fri.....Sat.....Sun etc..
IN
OUT
IN
OUT
Tot.

I would like for the time I put in the Out for Monday subract from the In on Monday and give me the total time. (But all in Time Format so when 60 Minutes hit then it becomes one hour, and I don't want to use military time)

Example

IN.......8:00
Out.....1:30
IN......
Out.....

Tot.....5:30

And then continue when I come back and have those numbers also included. Any Ideas?

Emoncada,

Set up the cells that you record the INs and Outs in to have a time format.

Set up the cell that you want the elapsed time to be in as a time format also.

Use this formula in the cell for the elapsed time:
LastOut-LastIn+FirstOut-FirstIn

If you don't like the format you chose for the elapsed time, do Format Cells and pick another one (time only) or create one of your own. Excel will handle the math automatically.

The Total is coming out as a date format I would like it to give me a total hours like 8 hrs, or 7:45 hrs.
