can someone please help me with this problem? i have a time sheet with a start time and an end time.my formula is as follows =D7+(C7>D7)-C7 it adds the times up perfect as my hours of work are salaried and very erratic, for instance if i start work at 22:00 on one day then finish at 6:00 in the morning on another day it works my time out perfectly.the only thing i need to find out is what formula i need to add on to that to automatically take off 30 mins if i work more than 6 hours but dont take off if i work 6 hours or less,i do go off a 24 hour clock as you can tell with my example.i hope people understand what i mean.the example above is mondays line and i need to do the same up until sunday, once you show me with line monday i assume i just need to change the correct letters & numbers down my sheet.

Excel Facts

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
I think...

IF(D7 + (C7 > D7) - C7 > 1/4, D7 + (C7 > D7) - C7 - 1/48, D7 + (C7 > D7) - C7)

i've got one formula that works, with that i mean it knocks the 30 mins off but wont go to the next day if i work over the midnight hour,i'll post you that formula so you can see.=IF(MAX(C7:D7)-MIN(C7:D7)<=TIME(6,0,0),MAX(C7:D7)-MIN(C7:D7),MAX(C7:D7)-MIN(C7:D7)-TIME(0,30,0))

With no info on what's in the D7 and C7 cells and only that you are using military time, seems all you need to do is preface your formula with the condition that if your total hours worked are greater than 6 (X>6) then subtract half the hour from your existing formula. This is the "if" of your formula....your "then" therefore is your condition 2 which will simply be your original formula.

excelestial thats just gone right over my head.theres nothing in cells d7 & c7 only the times i put in that i work,eg start 8:00 finish 17:00 then it totals up in e7 automatically which in that cell is the formula =D7+(C7>D7)-C7 that formula lets me go from one day to another and totals up perfect, please tell me in stupid terms what to add onto this to deduct 30 mins if i work over 6 hours.thanks
