...Is there a better way? What will tell me what day of the year a specific date is? For example, if I want to know that January 15, 2023 is the 15th day of the year, how do I make Excel tell me?
Thank you!

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
="1/15/2023"-"1/2023"+1

Or, for a date value in cell A1...

=A1-TEXT(A1,"m-yyyy")+1
