I am trying to figure out how to have a title line that is not affected when I alphabetize the rest of the document. Any ideas?

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.

Hi darkhelmet:

Welcome to the Board!

If I have understood you right, you can do this by not including the TITLE LINE in the sort range.

Does it help? If not please explain a little further and let us take it from there.

Edit: added Welcome!

Is there a way to lock the row so that I can't accidentally sort it?

Hi darkhelmet:

When you are working with the Sort feature, Excel will have a dialog box popup and it has an option to Select 'My List Has a Header Row'

If you select that option, then the Header Row (Your Title LIne) will not be included in the sort operation.

Regards!
