Hello all,

I have a problem which I am sure some of you must have already an answer for me.

I need to add times. I have two columns in which I have added times. In one column I calculated the time that for example goes from 10:00 to 13:30, in a second column I have other times expressed in minutes only. My problem is how do I add the 3:30 I get from the first cell, to the 95 minutes I get from the second column?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Try something like this...

<br />
Book1
ABC
1TimeMinutes (integer)Total time
213:309515:05
Sheet1
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
C2=A2+TIME(0,B2,0)

Note: format the cell with the formula (C2 in this case) as Time.

If A1 contains 95, then in another cells, enter:
=A1/(24*60) to display
0.065972

If you format this as time you will see:

1:35:00 AM

Hello AlfaFrog,
Thank you for your prompt reply.The formula seems to be working almost perfectly, the only problem is that instead of giving me the total number of hours and minutes, it tells me that the total is 12:30 PM. what can I do to avoid getting the AM or PM in my answers and instead get the total number of hours passed?

Format the result (C2) as Time and select the 13:30 type of time formatting in the Cell Formatting dialog or a Custom format [h]:mm
