Too many ActiveX?

Hi,

Not really a question i guess but am looking for some advise.

I am trying to set up a worksheet that will act as a repair form. Basically the users what a tick box to indicate the status of the product. Adding up all the different scenarios i would have to insert about a 170+ ActiveX contols as the tick boxes also have to be contolled by VBA.

I once read somewhere on this board that too many AcitveX controls can lead to unexpected behaviour of the spreadsheet. Is this correct?

I would gladly use the tickbox from the form toolbar but it is not possible to control this thing with VBA (correct???)

Any advice is welcome

Both types of checkbox can be manipulated using VBA.

It just really depends what you want to do.

Mind you I would ask why you need/want 170 checkboxes in the first place.

I am a bit cautious about these 170 as well

Currently i have formatted the cell and if a product is (for example) scrap than i inserted an "x" in front of it. The user prefers if i would use a checkbox (looks better). Before i even go this way i just want to be sure that it can be done and want to have a indication of how much work that will be.

You say that the tick boxes from the form toolbar can also manipulated through VBA. Can you give me an example?

I guess that the tick boxes from the forms toolbar are more "stable" than the one from the control toolbox. Or, in your opinion, it doesn't really matter?
