Hello ALL:

I am new to this board.

I have a file that is like 15 tabs long. It will not let me do any kind of formatting to it.

The message I keep getting is, 'too many different cell formats'. VERY ANNOYING!!!!!!

Just doing simple things like move/copy sheets and I get this error. Sometimes I can't even click on one individual cell and make it bold.... ARE U KIDDING ME?????

I even tried to delete all the formatting in the entire file and still no dice.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help,

Rickster8

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
I'd create a new workbook with 15 tabs, then copy each tab from the original and paste values with no formatting in the new one, tab by tab. That might help.

No there's actually no charts, but there are text boxes in every tab..... One of the people from the IT dept helped me out by running a scan on the file and it somehow cleared the source formatting and now I can format cells again....

She found a site that offered an xlstyletool and she ran this tool thru the file and somehow, someway, it worked....

Here's the link....
