top ten and other

In 2007, someone once asked to show top ten and other on a pivot table. Unfortunately, the answer was to do hand manipulation. As I'm importing the data in from access (well actually sqlserver), is there something better now or do I need a different reporting tool like crystal. Hopefully VB is not the answer
