[#totals] does not work????

Hey guys,

for some crazy reason, [totals] did not work on one of the row.

here is my formula:

=name[[totals],[contract total]]

and the result is #REF!

however, if i use sum

=sum(name[contract total])

it works perfectly, anyone has any idea why???

i am trying to return the total of a column "contract total" under the "name". its number value, not text.
