Tracking and closing out requests

I am working on a project to track requests from one group to another group. I can figure everything out, how to have an input for group 1, tracking sheet that group 2 will see and use to fill the request. The part that I am stuck on is we want group 1 to close out the request once group 2 has fulfilled the request. I am envisioning that each request will have a unique number generated by Excel so the person in group 1 that closes the request would have to first select/find that number and then close the request. This is the piece that I am not sure how to go about doing and then writing the VBA code to pull it off.
Any help/ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

Easy bullets in Excel
If you have a numeric keypad, press Alt+7 on numeric keypad to type a bullet in Excel.
why not have a close date? Then you could have a check in group one if it finds a close date it marks theirs closed

Ok, so I can have a requested date and a closed date. The users of the "system" will be not always the most computer savvy. So how would a user in group 1 find the request to be closed and then close the request? Yes, they can manually look for it but is there a “form” type that a user could type in a unique identifier to find the request? Yes, they could use the find function but again the users are not the most computer savvy. I know how to use the today function to create the dates (requested and close date). Once the request is closed I will need to “hide” or filter all closed requests so that group 2 doesn’t see it as an open request.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
Again any help/insight is appreciated.<o:p></o:p>

Thanks
