Tracking changes

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
Im completely stuck with this , basically I have a workbook at work which I am resposible for maintaining however as this workbook is readilly accessable for all on the network I have been noticing some strange alterations (which I suspect are purposely done) whoever the only way I can think of is to share the workbook and track changes however as they workbook is used in a live situation if I share it and changes are made then it is leaving room for error in the way that someone could complete their task before other changes have been updated. I am racking my brain to see if i can track changes without sharing the workbook. If that is not possible one other alternative is to password protect the workbook and all changes must be done by myself (creating more work for an under paid employee). However when I protect the workbook it always seems that certain changes by others are not permitted ie hiding /unhiding cells.

Someone help.................................................................................
