transfer combobox value between userforms

I have two user forms, both with a combobox (cbosalesordernumber) having completed the 1st userform i use a commandbutton to open a second userform ( the 1st form remains open).

I would like the code below to transfer the value of cbosalesordernumber from userform 1 to the cbosalesordernumber of userform2.

I have tried both of the following with no luck.

This is behind the commandbutton on userform1, which opens userform2

Private Sub CommandButton8_Click()
SimpleSheet.takepaymentatorder.ShowSimpleSheet.takepaymentatorder.cbosalesordernumber.Value = SimpleSheet.addproducts.cbosalesordernumber.Value 
End Sub

And then this in the initialize stage of userform2 having removed the code from the commandbutton on userform1 first.

cbosalesordernumber = SimpleSheet.addproducts.cbosalesordernumber.Value
